14 Oct COVID-19 POLICY
We wanted to reach out and touch base with you all regarding our health and wellness policy. It’s getting around to cold and flu season and unfortunately several of COVID-19 symptoms are the same as cold and flu as well as other less serious illnesses. Because of this we are having to follow our health and wellness policy to the letter in an effort to keep the children and staff as healthy as possible. We know that due to the crossover of the symptoms this could cause an inconvenience to your family. Please know that this is not our intention, our only intention is to follow the recommendations and advice of our campus leadership as well as the CDC in an effort to do our part in preventing the spread at this time.
If you child is exhibiting symptoms (CDC guidelines) we are sending children home from the center. In order to return we will need a doctors note, the child to be symptom free or for your child to receive a negative COVID test.
We know that children are still going to get minor colds, as long as we have documentation from their doctor stating that their illness is a cold (or other minor illness) and not COVID or suspected COVID then we are able to accept them for care. We just are unable to make that diagnosis and need a doctors note to ensure that we are doing all we can to keep all of the children in our care healthy. As I said earlier, we know this will cause an inconvenience at times- our hope is that in making sure we have communicated our policy and requirements that we can minimize the unexpected pickup phone calls and inconvenience for families.
We look forward to the day we all can relax, everyone is healthy and we don’t have to be so meticulous in our health and wellness policies. Please let us know if you have any questions.
